How does Quarterback Insecticide work?
Armyworm + African Black Beetle Control
Quarterback Insecticide is a popular option within the turf care industry as it offers lengthy protection up to 6 months. How is it able to do this?
Most insecticides will treat the pest on contact and then over time disperse to the point at which it is no longer active or effective. The active ingredient in Quarterback 200g/L CHLORANTRANILIPROLE is absorbed by the grass which enables a significantly longer residual protection up to 6 months.
It treats a range of lawn pests including:
- African black beetle
- Argentinian scarab
- Argentine Stem Weevil larvae
- Billbug larvae
- Black Cutworm Caterpillar
- Lawn Armyworm Caterpillar
- Sod Webworm Caterpillar
It has low toxicity and is exempt from poison scheduling with re-entry permitted immediately after spraying. NOTE: keep away from waterways as it is toxic to aquatic life.
- Low use rates
- Low environmental impact
- Low to no odour
If you're looking for a reliable long term systemic insecticide, Quarterback Insecticide may be just what your lawn needs!
How to get the most out of your application?
- Total water application volume should not be lower than 400 L/ha (4 L per 100m2).
- For best results use extremely coarse droplets
- Note that the amount of product specified in the DIRECTIONS FOR USE is per hectare of product. You will need to determine your spray rate (water volume) per hectare before deciding on the amount of product to add to the tank.
- For optimal control, irrigate with approximately 6 mm of water immediately after application (except where treating for caterpillars, when irrigation and mowing should be delayed for 24 hours).
- Quarterback is active against the instar larvae of the most destructive turf-infesting grub species. The window for application should thus be around the peak egg laying period by adult beetles. This timing can be monitored by the increasing activity of adult beetles and is usually during Spring and early Summer.
